Lewis Hamilton had a show of his experience by starting his 362nd Grand Prix in Formula 1, making him the second most experienced driver in the history of the sport. His motivation was evident in his explosive radio comments during the F1 GP Miami race on Sunday (4/5/2025).

The highlight of the race was the strategy from Ferrari, which led to Hamilton and his teammate, Charles Leclerc, getting in each other’s way, both fighting for the same track position. Starting the race with hard tires from 12th position, Hamilton quickly moved up to eighth after a pitstop, but became increasingly frustrated with Leclerc’s car ahead of him. Hamilton was using softer compounds and voiced concerns about his tires wearing out quickly and the team’s performance, although he clarified his comments were sarcastic and not born out of anger.

Despite Ferrari eventually instructing Leclerc to let Hamilton pass, the British driver failed to overtake Andrea Kimi Antonelli and found himself struggling with Leclerc’s longer-lasting and harder tires towards the end of the race.

Hamilton ultimately slowed down to give Leclerc a chance to chase Antonelli, even though they remained in seventh and eighth positions in the race. Team boss Frederic Vasseur emphasized the need for harmony within the team, highlighting the importance of trust between him, Hamilton, and Leclerc.

The Miami Grand Prix marked Ferrari’s first race this season without a podium finish. However, Hamilton remained optimistic that the team was on the right track to improve their performance, especially with upcoming upgrades and tests on the flexibility of the front wing. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to challenge Mercedes and Red Bull in the future races, aiming for a return to the podium and an enjoyable racing experience.
