President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, made a surprising departure for Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday evening via the high-speed Whoosh train. Accompanied by members of the public, he embarked on this journey from Halim Station in Jakarta. Upon arrival at the station around 7:45 p.m., Prabowo, dressed in a cream-colored outfit, smoothly tapped his boarding card at the ticket gate before ascending the escalator to the platform.
His presence caused a stir among commuters, who were delighted to see him. As he proceeded to the platform, Prabowo waved to the onlookers and interacted warmly with the crowd. Prior to boarding the train, he graciously posed for photos with the Whoosh crew. At exactly 8:00 p.m., the train departed for Tegalluar Station in Bandung.
President Prabowo is set to inaugurate the 2025 Indonesian Convention on Science, Technology, and Industry (KSTI) at the Sasana Budaya Ganesa (Sabuga), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), from August 7 to 9. He will be delivering the keynote address at the convention alongside Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto. With the overarching theme of “Economic Growth and Equity Through Mastery of Science and Technology,” KSTI 2025 aims to establish itself as a pivotal strategic platform both nationally and internationally.
