Sean Gelael, Darren Leung, and Dan Harper started from second position in the Bronze Cup GT World Challenge Europe (GTWCE) Endurance Cup class. However, their journey came to an early end. Despite Leung taking the lead at the beginning of the race, their advantage was short-lived. Within the first 10 minutes of the race, Leung was unable to compete with Riccardo Cazzaniga (Tresor Attempto Racing 88) who was competing in the Gold class. Their cars collided, with Audi hitting Leung’s BMW at Turn 3.

The incident caused damage to the left rear suspension of Leung’s car, forcing him to stop immediately from the race. This DNF (Do Not Finish) status was undoubtedly disappointing not only for Leung but also for Sean Gelael and Dan Harper. Apart from the Paradine Competition 991 team that failed to finish, the Tresor Attempto Racing 88 team also suffered damage.

During the race, the Paradine pit crew tried to instruct Leung to bring the car to the garage and change the left rear tire via radio communication. However, Leung responded by saying, “It seems impossible, because the car is damaged.” Harper expressed his disappointment on Facebook, stating, “We are very disappointed because our race ended due to contact in the first 10 minutes, even though Darren was leading the class in the opening lap. The weekend was very promising up to that point. Kudos to the Paradine team, Darren, and Sean for their hard work!”

The 3 Hours of Nurburgring GTWCE races for each class were won by 2 Seas Motorsport 222 (Mercedes-AMG) in the Bronze Cup, Boutsen VDS 10 (Mercedes-AMG) in the Silver Cup, Verstappen.com Racing 33 (Aston Martin) in the Gold Cup, and Rowe Racing 98 (BMW M) in the Pro class. Following the Nurburgring event, Sean Gelael participated in the FIA World Endurance Championship at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) on September 7, 2025.
